Cardiology is a branch of internal medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electro physiology. A person with heart disease or cardiovascular disease may be referred to a cardiologist. All cardiac catherization procedures and vascular procedures can be done at Borneo Medical Centre (Miri). This procedure is done to evaluate coronary artery disease, congenital heart abnormalities or disease of aorta, etc.
